Our Swim Now for Summer Program is now fully booked. Thanks to everyone who jumped back into lessons with Just Swimming.

_____________

Dust off those togs and goggles, we’re launching our Swim Now for Summer Program!

We’re so excited to announce Just Swimming Nunawading has developed a specialised four-week program that is designed to get back to the basics of swimming. After a long break in swimming lessons, we designed a refresher program which incorporates water safety elements into each lesson and will give excellent preparation for swimming over the summer holidays.

From Babies to Adults and Squad, we’ve shuffled as many swimming lesson programs as we can, but keeping within our COVID safety guidelines.

We’ll be offering swimming programs 6 days a week from the 23rd November until Sunday 20th December. Although we would love to get all our families back into swimming lessons, the current constraints in Melbourne on the number of people in the pool at any one time means, unfortunately, places are limited.

Questions? We thought you might.

Is it safe to return to the pools?

We have constantly been in close discussions with peak bodies in the industry and monitoring DHHS information and going by their recommendation on when it’s safe to open and operate swimming lessons. We have also implemented our own stringent practices at Aqualink Nunawading to ensure we are doing as much as we can to reduce the risk and spread of COVID-19.

Do I have to book for all four weeks?

The program is designed on participation for all four weeks, and to ensure your swimmer gets the best from the program, we do encourage attendance for the full program.  We have all been forced out of the water for an unusually long period of time. Everyone will need some time to re-teach the body what it feels like to be in the water again.
Nonetheless, any enrolment in swimming lessons is better than none, so if you are not able to enrol for the full 4 weeks, you can start the Swim Now for Summer program late. However, we can only take bookings one week in advance.

Can I book different times and dates over the four weeks?

To ensure we are reducing the risk of spread of COVID-19, we will be working in two workplace safety bubbles. Think of it as “Bubble One” and “Bubble Two”.
Bubble One will operate Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, and Bubble Two will operate Thursday, Friday and Saturday.  If you would like to attend multiple lessons or need to change class times, we ask that you remain within the bubble you have selected to help reduce the risk of spread.
For example, if you have booked in on a Tuesday for the four-week program, but on week 3 you know you cannot make that Tuesday. In this case, we could offer an alternative class on either Sunday or Monday, subject to availability.

If you normally swim twice a week, we strongly encourage you to limit lessons to one per week as our bodies, especially little bodies, may already be fatigued and we don’t want to overwhelm anyone.

I already swim with Just Swimming. Do I still have my regular term booking?

With the closure of all aquatic centres and restricted reopening regulations, we are unable to offer our regular term bookings at this time. We are hoping there will be some return to regular term bookings for Term 1, 2021, provided all goes well with further lessening of restrictions.

I have a credit with Just Swimming, can I use my family credit for the Swim Now for Summer Program?

Absolutely! We will automatically apply your credit to the Swim Now for Summer program. If you have more funds in your family credit than the cost of our program, we’ll simply deduct the cost of the Swim Now for Summer Program and the remaining balance will sit in your family account (there is no expiry on the credit)

If the parent or child is sick, will there be a refund or credit offered?

If you or your child is feeling unwell, we encourage you to stay home and rest up for a speedy recovery.  To receive a credit for the cancelled lesson, we simply ask you to provide a medical certificate to receive 100% of the fees paid in credit to your Just Swimming family account. If you are unable to supply a medical certificate, you will receive 50% of fees paid in credit to your Just Swimming family account.

Why isn’t Wesley, Burwood and Tintern open yet?

At this stage, the school sites where we hold swimming lessons are unable to permit parents onto their sites.  We know it is unreasonable to ask you to simply drop your precious little (or big!) ones off and leave. We can assure you, we are in continual communication with the schools to work through these challenges together.
In positive news, Tintern is currently undergoing maintenance to tile damage to the pool.  We anticipate the pool will be ready for use in early 2021.

Are the lessons modified?

Due to the swim school being closed for 8 months, children haven’t been in the water for that extended period of time so their endurance may have declined. Also, to be able to stay within our density quotient, we have had to reduce the number of swimmers in the lessons, which will result in more continued swimming and less rest time.  It also allows us to be able to offer more students a position to get back in the water before summer.

For this reason, we’ve reduced the lesson time for our Seal Gold and Mini Squad classes, which will only be 30 mins duration.

Do I have to be a current customer of Just Swimming to enrol in Swim Now For Summer? Will I need an assessment?

As always, we offer our lessons to anyone wanting to start or continue their swimming journey.  Depending on previous swimming experience, and over the phone assessment may be required. For Just Swimming customers, we will simply book you back into the level you were working on.

What about the Big Splash Holiday Program?

At this stage, we are preparing for a January Holiday Program.  Keep an eye out for further communication regarding the January Holiday Program operating dates and when we are open for bookings
