What is Baby Starfish?
Baby Starfish is an introduction to infant water familiarisation and is designed to teach basic skills that prepare parents and their babies for our learn-to-swim program.
Instructor-led activities include learning safe ways to hold your baby in the water, enhancing an infant’s inborn natural reflexes, teaching basic breath control through demonstration, and educating parents on water safety for infants. Infants are not submerged during a Baby Starfish class.
Baby Starfish is a fun and enjoyable experience for you to share with your baby.
When are the classes held?
Just Swimming Nunawading (Address: Aqualink Nunawading, Fraser Place, Forest Hill)
All Baby Starfish classes operate at 11:30 am on weekdays (Monday through to Friday). Customers will select their preferred day (subject to availability) and remain in that class for the duration of their 6-week program.
What qualifications do the swimming teachers hold?
Swimming teachers are trained specifically to take Baby Starfish classes and are there to teach the correct methods to parents through clear learning objectives and outcomes. Teachers hold a Teacher of Infant Aquatics qualification in addition to the minimum teacher qualifications including AUSTSWIM or SAT qualification, CPR and Working With Children Check qualifications.
What are the class ratios?
Baby Starfish classes have a maximum of 6 students in each class to ensure a gentle and relaxed learning environment for parents to bond with their baby.
How long do the lessons go?
Lessons are 30 minutes in duration.
What are the Terms and Conditions?
The person enrolling must have a date of birth which indicates an age of between 4 months and 5 months and 3 weeks on the date of their first lesson.
Students will be enrolled on the same day each week, for a 6-week block. Lessons cannot be postponed and missed lessons cannot be made upon another day during the week.
The person is not entitled to receive any other discount or free offer during the term in which they complete their Baby Starfish 6 Week Program.
