Nunawading | Learn to Swim
The Learn to Swim Program consists of a comprehensive series of swimming lessons and water safety activities for children and adults of all ages and abilities.

Teacher Qualifications and Training
Our team of dedicated, qualified and experienced instructors know the importance of balancing the professionalism required to teach your child whilst maintaining the element of enjoyment so your child has fun while learning.
All our instructors have a minimum AUSTSWIM or Swim Australia Teacher award and current CPR qualifications. Teaching staff regularly participate in internal staff training sessions to ensure a high quality and innovative program.
Term Bookings
Our Learn to Swim program operates each day Monday to Sunday on a term basis. Your booking is considered permanent and on-going from term-to-term. You are required to notify reception staff if your child will be absent from a scheduled swim class or you wish to cancel your booking at the end of a term.
Lesson Cards
Your child will be issued with a laminated lesson card with a barcode. For OH&S reasons, these cards must be scanned each lesson to record your child attendance in their class. On the back of these lesson cards will be your child’s class level.
Attendance at Swimming Lessons
Please arrive for your swimming lesson at least 10 minutes prior to the lesson start time. In the interest of your child’s safety, please ensure your child is placed in, and collected from, the care of the instructor personally.
Medical Conditions
Please ensure your child is well before participating in swimming lessons. It is the customer’s responsibility to advise the instructor and reception staff of any medical condition which may compromise the swimmer’s safety and/or progress within the lesson.
Progress Reports
Parents may speak to the Team Leader on pool deck if you require a progress report on your child.
Certificates
Certificates are available for children as they complete each level. When your child completes a level, the Team Leader on pool deck will issue you with a certificate slip which your child can then present to reception to receive a certificate. Please collect your child’s certificate from reception on the day your child is upgraded to the next level.
Certificate folders are available to purchase from reception and are very popular with all of the children.
Payment Policy
Full payment is required when making a lesson booking. If you are enrolling your child part way through the term, payment is required upon booking for the remaining weeks of the term.
Invoices for the following term are posted to you within the last 3 weeks of the previous term. Payment is due for the following Term by the last day of the previous Term. If payment is not received by the due date, your booking is forfeited.
Payment can be made by cash, cheque EFTPOS or credit card.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to the popularity and reputation of Just Swimming Nunawading and to provide your child with the best opportunity to progress through the swim school, we highly recommend that children include swimming lessons as a year round activity. It is often difficult to get back into the same day and time if you choose to miss a term.
Credit Policy
If a student is not able to complete a term or misses their lesson time for any reason, there will be NO REFUND.
A credit may be considered if a student misses 3 consecutive weeks for a medical reason, upon presentation of a Doctor’s Certificate
Make- Up Policy
24 hours notice must be given for a cancellation of a swimming lesson. No notification, no make-up lesson.
See the Make- Up policy page for more information>>
